Georgie Nicholson, who helps manage our public sector partnerships, said: \u201cWe had an absolutely amazing turnout.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a great opportunity to speak to people and shout about all the amazing work we have achieved together so far.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt one point it got so busy that even Nicola Sturgeon couldn\u2019t get through the crowd \u2013 but she came and said hello later and it meant so much to us to know we have her support. It was a really lovely moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had so many great discussions with them all, including about the importance of reusables in not only fighting period poverty and empowering more people \u2013 but improving sustainability too.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event also allowed the team to raise the profile of the award-winning app by My Period \u2013 PickupMyPeriod \u2013 which helps people locate the nearest free period products in their area.<\/p>\n
Further discussions were held on opening up more free pickup stations throughout Scotland and ways for people to further benefit through the historic Period Products (Free Provision) Act.<\/p>\n
Georgie added: \u201cWe very much became part of the furniture while we were there and opened up the conversation. It was nice to see so many MSPs come and say hello again.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe received so many thank yous \u2013 and it was great to hear about the impact our work is having. But it was equally good to speak about other areas which need more support and how we can spread the message of the act even further.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would absolutely love to do it again. The more work like this we do in Scotland, the higher the chance we\u2019ll see similar legislation introduced throughout the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n
